Max has been adopted on March 20, 2018.
- Dog's Original Name: Max
Max is thin but exuberant. He is a happy dog that wants to please. He loves cookies and got on well with kids. He may do well in a home with a female dog that is a bit younger then him. He is having some dominance issues with a male dog that has always been alpha and is older and going blind.
Max is incoming, he still needs to be vetted and groomed before he gets to a more permanent foster. He has not seen the vet in 3+ years, but he apears in good health aside from long nails and being thin.
Max is very sweet and a bit exuberant. He tends to jump up but will also sit.
Max is very happy and took to me very quickly. I think he will make the transfer to a new family without any issues.
Vetting, grooming and fattening up
A family that does not have other senior dogs. A fenced yard to play. A job to do or training to go to. Max could use some good old fashioned activity in his life.
Happy and ready to please.
Other Dogs: Maybe
No older dogs or aggressive dogs, preferably only a female dog. Max gets along with the neighbor dog and a family members dog but is getting dominant with the ailing older dog at home.
Update: Max is doing well in foster and staying with 3 other dogs. He will grumble from time to time but has learned and fit into the pecking order.
Unsure, he has had some exposure, but not recently.
Update: Max is doing well at ignoring the parrot in his foster home, he was curious at first but listens well when told no.
He could be with children that are well mannered and understand how to behave with older dogs.
Update: Max has been pronounced health, but a bit underweight. He is happily getting lots of extra goodies like round steak and liver.
Max will jump up on visitors, he needs some work on this. Otherwise he is very well mannered. He either does not know 'down' or just refuses to lay down due to old age when asked.
April 18, 2018 Update
Max is doing very well in his new home. He is gaining a little weight and generally very happy.
