- Dog's Original Name: Keely
Keely was adopted as a puppy (pedigree available) and has happily lived with a family with two small children until circumstances now require her to find a new home.
Keely's owners have released her to the Foundation to find the best possible home for the remainder of her life
Keely loves all humans, including children. She is reactive at first meeting other dogs but it's her excitement, not aggression. Within minutes she was happily sniffing and accepting both of my dogs, a male and a female. She is very loving and kissy. She loves to play fetch as long as you will continue to throw!
Keely's ideal home will have someone there during the major part of the day. She loves her people and wants to be a part of your life. She is crated when left alone.
This is a very lovely little girl! Right now she is stressed with the changes occurring at home so has chewed off her tail hair! Not a lovely accent to a gorgeous silver grey coat, but sure to come back when life settles down again.
Other Dogs: Yes
If you are considering adopting Keely and have another dog already, please be considerate of her noisy welcome and give her time to settle into this new relationship. Upon first meeting, it didn't take long for Keely to settle down.
While other dogs are not foreseen to be a problem, the presence of a cat will not be as lucky.
Keely was in her current home before the children arrived and was very happy to welcome then. Her owner told me that Keely knew she was pregnant even before she did!
A vet visit is imminent to update Keely's vaccinations. She has a few typical Kerry lumps and her teeth are not perfectly white, but she appears to be in excellent health.
Obedience or rally or agility.....doing sports with your dog is excellent for bonding so is highly recommended. Keely could use some leash and greeting strangers training to improve her manners.
July 25, 2016 Update
Keely's breeders have been reached and have recommended a home with a member of their family within a few miles of Keely's current home. We are very pleased that Keely will return to the bosom of her littermates!
