Trevor was living with his owner in Kentucky. She sadly became very ill and could no longer take care of him. Trevor was adopted in Texas 2 weeks ago however he nipped at his female owner several times. Usually when she took something from him, that he was not supposed to have. The other time was when she tried to stop him from barking at a car. None of the times broke her skin. They also found out that her 3 year old daughter was also allergic to him. He arrived pretty matted (3-4 months of no grooming or brushing) from Kentucky and so she had to have him shaved down. He also arrived to her home 6 lbs less than his last vet check in March 2017. She said he rationed food and was always looking for water. They renamed him Boomer. He is is now in a wonderful temporary foster home. Seeking someone who can do longer term foster or preferably an adopter that has the time to work with him.
Pretty hyper, still has that puppy in him. Boomer is very affectionate though. He also likes to lick his human a lot. We do not see any current aggressive behavior nor any nipping. Bitter Apple on your hand seems to be curbing his licking the human issue.
He is about 20 inches at the withers and weighs 33 pounds, A bit on the skinny side.
He would do best with a person that works out of the home. No small children Teens okay. A Kerry savvy person for certain, that won't allow him to push your buttons as he so far appears pretty alpha but he also is a young boy that was just neutered on 1 4 2018 That should help a lot.
Other Dogs: Maybe
Currently testing. Mini Schnauzer does not like him in current temporary foster. Boomer just ignores her. They are being kept seprate however.
Heart worm Negative, he was neutered on 1/4/2018 and had his teeth cleaned. Boomer is UTD on his shots as well.
Needs some leash training. Likes to bark at cars and trucks. High energy. He appears to be mostly house broken. He is crate trained and sleeps in his crate at night with no problems.
