Meet Billy, a 1-2yo male kerry mix whose foster mum describes him as an absolute angel -- loving, affectionate, eager to please, and easygoing around cats and other dogs. Billy came into the shelter frightened and underweight -- despite carrying several tons of hair (see his "before" picture) -- but has begun to flourish in a foster home environment. His mum says his personality is just beginning to come out, and that he will be a joy for an adult owner or a family with older children (young children might overwhelm Billy). Billy is still a bit timid, but is coming out of it nicely with lots of loving. He adores men and women equally, but prospective adopters should be aware that Billy has likely been abused in the past and may be a bit tentative in a new environment -- though the kerry sparkle is there and will only get brighter as Billy realizes he has found his forever home. Billy is not quite "there" with housetraining, but is getting it, especially as he gains confidence in the rest of his new life.
The ideal home for Billy would be one where there was someone home most of the time to give Billy attention and guidance, where he would get to go on fun adventures and get plenty of exercise and socialization, and perhaps even have a nice sister to help show him the ropes in a new environment.
