Originally published in 1980 by Howell Book House, this book has been revised as the "Classic Edition," scheduled for release by Wiley Publishers on December. 13, 2004. Fortunately, the original edition's foreword by the late Julia Gasow, of Salilyn English Springer Spaniel fame, has been retained. Gasow writes, "1 am touched by Ann Seranne's deep love of dogs, her knowledge, land] her sincerity. But most of all, I am touched by her total unselfishness. I quote: "The challenge before us is to capture all the qualities in one gorgeous, animated package, and lock those genes into our genetic lines so that our dogs will eventually breed true.
