#132 Magoo [was Finny's Dare Devil] is being fostered by Donna and Charles DeCuir in Granite Bay, CA. This is a magnificent boy. He arrived with bilateral entropian, a gash in his head and significant ear infections, also a number of healing bite marks and punctures. He has had the entropian corrected, the gash sutured and has been neutered. He is recovering well. This is a boy that needs an only animal home. He is way too interested in cats, doesn’t like other dogs – even females, and has twice taken a dip in the koi pond in his foster home. On the other hand with people he is an absolute love. He will sit in your lap forever, giving kisses. He will benefit from a course of obedience and I believe that his behavior on leash can be modified to the point that he is a reasonable dog to walk in public, but I doubt that he will ever be able to live with other animals.

#132 Magoo now has a permanent home with Bill and Marty Carroll in Northern California. This is a magnificent boy. He is very sweet and affectionate but with lots of energy. His first night in his new home Magoo established that he is sleeping on the bed with his new mom and dad. He has a Waterford crystal bowl to drink from and elevated dishes for dinner. Sporting a brand new collar Magoo steps out proudly when walking in his new neighborhood.

Here is an update on Mr. Magoo:

Mr. Magoo (Number 132 of Shelbina Express Rescue) is doing great with just a few exceptions. Mr. Magoo and I will start some special training next week--4 private lessons and then a 7-week group obedience class. He has gained weight and seems to be a very happy little dog. We still have to watch him very closely because he is still very curious about everything. He loves to chew whatever is in his sight. Do you remember we had to teach him to walk up and down our stairs when we first got him? Well, now--he flies both ways--honestly, his feet hit the stairs maybe three times. We got him groomed the last of May--he had schnauzer eyes after it was all over. So, I am now looking for a KBT groomer near us. I do not want to go to anyone who is heavy-handed. Mr. Magoo needs to go to someone who is gentle and loving, not forceful. Hope you have a wonderful July 4th. We will be keeping Mr. Magoo in. He is still learning so much about the world, but I think he is doing great. Thank you so much for letting us adopt this wonderful little dog.

Hi, Everyone--Hope everyone had a wonderful July 4th. My name is Marty Carroll. My husband, Bill, and I adopted #132, Finny's Dare Devel, of the Shelbina Rescue. His name is now Mr. Magoo. He is doing great. We have had to teach him about many things and noises such as how to go up and down the stairs, what a treat is, and that we love him very much. He is a joy to us. He was very afraid last night with all the fireworks. He did not want to go out this morning. I wonder how our furry friends got through all the tornadoes in Missouri. Anyway, Mr. Magoo and I will begin special training very soon. He seems to be marking in the house even though I try to take him out about every hour. So I am trying to remove urine stains from the carpet constantly and not having much luck getting the yellow color out. We will eventually put in pergo-like flooring but not until our budget allows. We moved to Rocklin, CA and purchased a house that needs lots of expensive work. So until we can change our carpet, I need to ask anyone's help who may know the secret to getting the urine up. I have tried many products including Nature's Miracle and Get Serious, both of which seem to leave lots of soap in the carpet and/or a film. I think these and other products like them that claim to get pet stains out just camouflage the stain temporarily. Does anyone know a magic trick? In speaking with the trainer about this problem, he has indicated that since Mr. Magoo is 3 and a half and a rescue dog, this may be something that may or may not be corrected. Any help or advice would be sincerely appreciated.

I would also like to take this opportunity to extend a heart-felt thank you to all of you who participated in this and other ongoing rescues. Words can never express how much happiness and love Mr. Magoo has brought into our lives.
