The Kerry alert posted at 4:45 pm this afternoon has ended in a successful recovery of the missing big blue dog.  As it turns out, Tucker was not kidnapped by the Dalmatian Rescue society but rather had concocted his own grand scheme to test the Kerry alert system by feigning his own mysterious disappearance.  Seeing the opportunity of an open gate left by his now favorite gardener, the big blue headed for open ground.  Unfortunately for him, his choice of captures consisted of a young neighbor and her two year old son.  Tucker could not resist the lure of such immanent attention and instead of running, begged for just one last scratch behind the ear.  That was all it took.  Before he new it, he was being held captive in the dog rescue area of the local homeowner’s security compound.  Realizing that his plan had failed, he attempted to bribe the guard with promises of enduring love and affection.  Again his ten months of life did not prepare him for the real world practice of giving a substantial bonus given to the local security during the holidays in anticipation of just such an occurrence.  What a surprise he had to find that the Kerry Blue Rescue Society had foiled his planed escape literally before he had even conceived the idea.  A call to the 800 number, one to Janet one to Jan, another to Jo, one to Eileen and even a forwarded response from a clueless attorney lead to the return of the big blue dog. What joy.

The moral of the story:  When you are promised the best life has to offer, bite the hand that feeds you, run like hell and pray that there is a Kerry Blue Rescue Society that will forgive you for all your faults.  After all, he is a Kerry Blue.

Thanks All.

Can you forward this to all those who helped get our little Tucker back.  By the way.  I took him into the office this morning to show Jo.  He was the hit of the office.  He is so gentle, he is not afraid of people, he and Katie play for ever, he doesn’t bother the cats and to watch him and Katie on a leash together is most precious.  I think we got the jewel of the rescue.  I’ll take some more pictures tomorrow and send them to you.  We will be dog proofing the run to eliminate any possible escape routs.

Thanks again
