Lost Kerry Coordinator

by Tracey Fulmer, Foundation Rescue Coordinator

Judith Bruno (jbruno@ralden.com) serves as the central coordinator in the hunt for lost Kerries.

Judtith doesn't hesitate to jump into action, contacting frantic owners to offer them expert advice and obtaining information so the shelter scanning team and the Kerry community can assist with the search. Judith and Roland have designed web page for each of the lost Kerries, which includes pictures and printable posters and flyers with the pertinent information (date and place lost, collar, weight, chipped, etc.). Judith also spearheads posting the lost dog information on the internet, on sites such as craigslist and other local resources, where the link to the web site is an enormous help. This is a huge undertaking each time we are alerted that a Kerry is missing, and also a relief for the owners as many don't know where to start.

By reporting alost Kerry to the Foudnation, our scanning teams will be looking for new Kerry postings on hundereds of shelter sites. This is a resource that I hope none of us ever need to use, but thank goodness it's there. Please make sure your dog's microchip information is up to date and includes your cell phone.

Note: This is especially important for new adopters since these rescues are flight risks. I also recommend listing the Foundation's 800# as a contact, just in case: (800) 532-2890.
