Here's
a quick update on Faith. She arrived in South Carolina Tuesday night and
is a wonderful little girl. At 26 pounds she is very tiny but so very sweet.
Since Tuesday she has spent a day at the Dog Spa and now smells and looks
like a pretty kerry girl. She gets along great with my two resident kerries
and in such a short time has shown a lot of progress. She has mastered stairs,
walks on a leash wonderfully and is learning how to be a kerry. She ran
this morning for the first time since she has been here and joined in a
game of chase in the backyard. She has little to no muscle tone but that
didn't keep her from trying to keep up with the other dogs. She wags her
tail when she greets us, gives kerry kisses and seems to enjoy men and women
alike and is loving and gentle with the kids.
Her initial lack of interest in food was not a lack of appetite but a sore
mouth. She is on antibiotics now and will have extensive dental work done
on Monday morning. Her appetite is great -- she loves her soft meals, yogurt
snacks and discovered Frosty Paws (doggie ice cream) this afternnoon. Her
tail was wagging the whole time she was eating and looked up with a totally
white beard.
The mill did not break this girl's kerry spirit and her temperament is ideal.
She is going to make a wonderful addition to a very lucky family.
I can't thank the Foundation enough for what they do for these dogs. It
is a blessing to be a part of Faith's life.
