This goes under the heading of the crazy things we do for the dogs we love.....

About a year and a half ago - close to Gabby's (MACH 2 Keriland's Talk About Town) 9th Birthday I started to feel panic; my dog was aging! When did this happen?

I still vividly remember the day Chad and I picked her up to bring her home - how she cried in the crate until I held her in my arms and told her it was o.k. She was mine and I was hers.

Gabby has been more than a wonderful pet - she has been my agility partner, my muse and my true blue friend - I couldn't imagine my life without her.

Why was I feeling so blue? No pun intended.

Gabby was doing well. She was turning nine, but you never would have known it. Little Ms. Loud, (now 10 and a half ) is a spry, mischievous and healthy Kerry Blue ....but at the time, almost every time I looked at her I felt worried. When would the day come that I would have to be without her? I felt like I had tears in my eyes way too often....

So - I did something to ease my anxiety - I got a tattoo!

Gabby has been inked! Her likeness was tattooed on my thigh and there my naughty Kerry Blue will sit - On my lap, for as long as I live. The tattoo is beautiful, colorful and bold. It shows Gabby leaping through her bright red collar, ears caught in the wind, agility style.

I feel better.

You can see a picture of my Gabby Tattoo in the March/April issue of the nationally published Bark Magazine. The article entitled "Indelible Dog"s is about the dogs who have inspired tattoo tributes.

Ain't love grand?
