Modified FallsSome people do not like the fall of the Kerry and prefer to see the Kerry's eyes. While modified falls are not allowed in the conformation show ring, they are acceptable everywhere else. On March 4, 2005 the Question of the Week was:
Only half of the Kerry owners keep the fall of their Kerry according to the Kerry Standard.

Cavan's Tear'N Up Jack Marie Demarco
Lisiji Jack Be Nimble, CD
Other people modified the fall for practical reasons.
Roxy, 2 years in this picture, goes on every ride with Pat Shepard. She not only wears a harness and is tethered to the dune buggy, but the "Doggles" really protect her eyes. Pat says that the hardest part is getting the fall out of the way to put the goggles on. The "unicorn" approach works best. Kerries in performance events often have braided falls or are without a fall to be able to see better.

Kazakhstan style Lisa Frankland wrote a funny story about what can happen in the performance ring when a Kerry's fall is not what the judge expected. Read about "stapleface".
