Kerry Blue Stamps

This stamp was issued and commissioned in 1983 after the minister for Posts and Telegraphs accepted the recommendations of the Philatelic Committee Chairman W.H.Walsh.
The issue is devoted to Irish dogs as part of a series on Irish Fauna and Flora postage stamps.
The stamps where designed and painted by Wendy Walsh.

The word "brocaire" is the Irish word for Terrier and "gorm" means blue.
Other similar words in Irish are Brocach which means burrow (badger's as opposed to rabbits "poll coinin")
and broc which means badger.

On the right side, the lighter one, is Lizzy, Tralee Bay Fair Felicity.
The left one is her daughter: Ayla from Lizzy's Little Army.

I think this picture is a real eyecatcher because it has been used on several occasions, what makes me very proud on the two girls.
