Available Volunteer Positions
All positions at the Foundation are staffed with volunteers. However, you
will be rewarded with the knowledge you are doing something positive for
the breed. By joining a select group of Kerry volunteers, you will work
for the betterment of the breed.
You can quit these positions at any time, so please try them - you may

Current job openings
Rescue Coordinator for
the Southeast
A Rescue Coordinator is the hub of the rescue operation.
Rescue Coordinators report to the Rescue Director and work very closely
with Foster Families.
Rescue Coordinators helps recover Kerries from shelters. They work with
shelters, as well as owners relinquishing their Kerries, to take possession
of the dog, arrange veterinary care and foster care, screen potential adopters,
place the dog in a permanent home, and provide follow-up support.
Rescue Coordinators work in their geographic areas and review applications
from their area, interview the applicant, and place Kerries.
Rescue Coordinators must be able to react fast and make decisions, often
based on limited information, to ensure the safety of the dog. Impeccable
people skills and dedication are a must.
The job can be both emotionally and physically draining. You may encounter
dogs in advanced states of neglect, in deteriorating health, or people who
don't care, or who have heartbreaking stories to tell. Yet this job gives
you an opportunity to improve--or save--the life of one or more Kerries
every year, and make a real contribution to the breed. You will also earn
the appreciation of the new Kerry owner and the Kerry community.
A signed Rescue Coordinator Agreement,
which describes all the responsibilities, is required. (Agreement: .pdf)
The application forms can only be viewed in .pdf format with Acrobat Reader.
